Description
Treeless Island is located in Marmot Bay, 0.5 mi. E of Shale I., N of Kodiak I.
History
Described by Sub-Lt. N. Khaw, Imperial Russian Navy (IRN) Murashev in 1839 or 1840 as "Os(trov) Nizmennyy Kamennyy, meaning "Low Ricky Island." The descriptive , U.S. Navy (USN), of the U.S. Bureau of Fisheries (USBF) steamer Albatross.
