History
Translation of the name "M(ys) Golova" given in 1849 by the Russian American Company. "M(ys) Zhila," meaning "inhabited cape," was applied to this point in 1839 or 1840 by Sqt. Lieutenant Mikhail Murashev, Imperial Russian Navy (IRN), and published in 1849 on Russian Hydrographic Dept. Chart 1425.
