Description
North Island is located off E shore of Favorite Channel, 1.2 mi. SW of Yankee Cove and 27 mi. NW of Juneau, Coast Mts.
History
Named in 1880 either by Captain L. A. Beardslee, U.S. Navy (USN), or by Commander R. W. Meade, 1SN, in 1869. Name was published by US@C&GS in the 1883 Coast Pilot (p. 195).
