Kaknau Creek is located in Glacier Bay National Monument, flows S to Palma Bay in Gulf of Alaska, 63 mi. NW of Hoonah, St. Elias Mts.
History
Tlingit Indian name suggested by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) in 1929. This is the name of an Indian village mentioned by Kruase (1956, p. 75), located in this valley. The word "kaknau" is reported to mean "grouse foot."
