Description
Boussole Bay is located in Glacier Bay National Monument N of Boussole Head, 58 mi. NW of Hoonah, St. Elias Mts. 1 mile wide.
History
Named in 1929 by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) for the Boussole, one of the two French ships which explored this area in 1786, under the command of LaPerouse.
