Description
Tanis Lake is located at mouth of Fassett Glacier, 46 mi. SE of Yakutat and 9 mi. NW of Dry Bay, St. Elias Mts.
History
Name derived from the Tanis River which heads at this lake. Name was published in 1928 by International Boundary Commission (IBC).
