N of Denali Highway, in course of Rock Creek, 2( mi. NW of Paxson, Alaska Range
History
So named in 1955 by T. L. Pewe, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), because the lake "is the habitat of a multitude of phalarope (a small shore bird) during the summer season."
