Local name reported in 1954 by R. N. Dearmond......Armond. It was also locally known as Harlampy's Hill or Mountain because about 1890, Harlampy Sokoloff started a rockslide on the side of the mountain which was still plainly visible in 1954. The slide was known as Harlampy's slide, which gave the mountain this name.
