Description
Minett Island is located in Jamestown Bay, 1.5 mi. SE of Sitka, on W coast of Baranof I., Alex. Arch.
History
Named in 1880 by the U.S. Navy, presumably for Lieutenant Henry Minett, U.S. Navy (USN). The name was published by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) in 1883 Coast Pilot (p. 144).
