Description
Siginaka Islands is located in Sitka Sound, 8 mi. NW of Sitka; Alex. Arch.
History
named in 1809 by the Russian navigator Ivan Vasiliev the first published by Lieutenant Sarichev (1826, map 19), Imperial Russian Navy (IRN), as "O(strov) Siginaki," of "Signaki Island." the largest of the group; it was applied to the group in 1848 by the Russian Hydrographic Dept.
