Dog Point is located on W tip of Lisianski Peninsula, 9 mi. N of Sitka, on W coast of Baranof I., Alex. Arch.
History
This is an 1882 translation by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) of the name given in 1809 by the Russian navigator Ivan Vasiliev the first reported by Lieutenant Sarichev (1826, map 19), Imperial Russian Navy (IRN), as "M(ys) Sabachey."
