Scraggy Islands is located extend in head of Salisbury Sound, between Baranof and Kruzof Is., 24 mi. NW of Sitka, Alex. Arch.
History
Local descriptive name published in 1901 Coast Pilot (p. 196). Originally named in 1833 by the Russian navigator Ensign Vasiliev for an early Russian explorer Gerasim Izamilov; published in 1848 as "Os(trov) Samoylov," or "Samoylov Island" on Russian Hydrographic Dept. Chart 1397.
