Round Island is located in Salisbury Sound, off S coast of Chichagof I., 26 mi. NW of Sitka, Alex. Arch.
History
Descriptive name reported in 1896 by Lieutenant Commander Moore, U.S. Navy (USN), and published by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) in the 1901 Coast Pilot (p. 191). It is "wooded, 200 feet high, dome-shaped top."
