Description
High Castle Island is located one of Castle Is., in Duncan Canal, 13 mi. SW of Petersburg, off S coast of Kupreanof I., Alex. Arch. 0.2 mile long.
History
Local descriptive name reported in 1933 by R. H. Sargent, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS); so called because this island is considerably higher than any of the other island s of the group.
