Description
Big Castle Island is located one of Castle Is., in Duncan Canal, 13 mi. SW of Petersburg, on SW coast of Kupreanof I., Alex. Arch.; 1 mile long.
History
Local name reported in 1933 by R. H. Sargent, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS); so named because it is the largest of the Castle Islands.
