Description
Fortress Creek is located flows NE to Ayiyak River, 7 mi. NW of Castle Mtn. and 44 mi. NW of Anaktuvuk Pass, Arctic Slope. 15 miles long.
History
Descriptive name given in 1944 by W. W. Patton, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), during the exploration of Naval Petroleum Reserve No. 4 for nearby Fortress Mountain.
