Description
Gilpatricks is located on Kenai Peninsula, on Seward Highway 22 mi. S of Sunrise, Chugach Mts.
History
Local name reported by B. L. Johnson (in Martin and others, 1915, pl. 2), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). Gilpatricks was originally a small mining camp in the Moose Pass district named for John C. Gilpatrick who discovered gold on Summit Creek in 1896.
