Description
Gull Island is located in Favorite Channel, 3.5 mi. NW of Pearl Harbor and 22 mi. NW of Juneau, Coast Mts.
History
Named in 1880 by Captain L. A. Beardslee, U.S. Navy (USN) and published by US@C&GS in the 1883 Coast Pilot (p. 195). The island was so named because "it was covered by sea gulls."
