Description
Willoughby Island is located in Glacier Bay, in Glacier Bay National Monument, 1.6 mi. E of Finders Bay 40 mi. NW of Hoonah, St. Elias Mts.
History
Named by U.S. Navy in 1880 for Richard G. Willoughby, "an Alaskan pioneer" (U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS), 1883, p. 189).
