Description

Marble Islands is located two small islands, in Glacier Bay, Glacier Bay National Monument, 45 mi. NW of Hoonah, St. Elias Mts.

History

So named by Captain W. E. George in 1883 "because the islands are composed largely of marble" (U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS), 1883, p. 189).
