Description
Rat Island is located off NW coast of Mansfield Peninsula at mouth of Funter Bay, 0.6 mi. S of Clear Point and 19 mi. SW of Juneau, Alex. Arch. 0.1 mile wide.
History
Named by Lieutenant Commander H. B. Mansfield, U.S. Navy (USN), in 1890 and published by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) in the 1891 Coast Pilot (p. 161).
