Description
Horse Island is located in Stephens Passage off the E coast of Mansfield Peninsula, 12 mi. SW of Juneau, Alex. Arch.
History
Apparently named in 1890 by Lieutenant Commander H. B. Mansfield, U.S. Navy (USN) and published by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) in the 1891 Coast Pilot (p. 150).
