Description
Quartz Point is located on NE end of Goose I., in South Passage, 1.5 mi. NW of Mud Bay and 23 mi. NW of Hoonah, Alex. Arch.
History
So named in 1882 by W. H. Dall, U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS), "because the place is marked by large masses of white quartz, which look like ice."
