Description
A steep and very deep valley located to the east of Hancock Canyon. The feature trends to the southwest to its mouth 0.6 km (0.4 mi) east of Camp Hancock. The valley is located in John Day Fossil Beds National Monument/Clarno Units.
History
Named for the "equisetum", or the fossils of 325 million year old horsetails, which are found in the surrounding volcanic conglomerate cliffs.
