Description
Located approximately 1.6 km (1 mi) south of the Painted Hills, just east of the road to the Fitzgerald Ranch; located in John Day Fossil Beds National Monument.
History
Descriptive name for a small, yet prominent, summit of red claystone. This feature includes a distinctive "scar" of red paleosols, and is important to local geological research.
