Description
On the southeast end of the Cathedral Range on the Tuolumne-Madera County boundary, 0.8 km (0.5 mi) northwest of Mount Lyell. (US-T121)

Named in honor of William Maclure, (1763-1840), a pioneer in American geology who visited the United States in 1779 and again in 1796, and planned a geological survey of the United States in 1825. (US-t121)
