Description

In Yosemite National Park, on the southeast end of the Cathedral Range, bound on the north by Maclure Lake and on the south by Mount Maclure. (US-T121)

History

Named in honor of William Maclure, (1763-1840), a pioneer in American geology who visited the United States in 1779 and again in 1796, and planned a geological survey of the United States in 1825. (US-t121)
