Description

In Yosemite National Park, heads at Maclure Lake, 1.6 km (1 mi) north of Mount Maclure, flows northeast to Lyell Creek. (US-T121)

History

Named in honor of William Maclure, (1763-1840), a pioneer in American geology who visited the United States in 1779 and again in 1796, and planned a geological survey of the United States in 1825. (US-t121)
