Description
Oil Creek is located on S slope of Brower Ridge, flows S to Gulf of Alaska, 2.8 mi. NW of mouth of White River and 96 mi. NW of Yakutat, St. Elias Mts.
History
Local name reported by G. C. Martin, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in 1904. So named because of oil discoveries made here about 1897.
