Description
Haenke Island is located in Disenchantment Bay near head of Yakutat Bay and 30 mi. NE of Yakutat; St. Elias Mts.
History
named in 1791 by Captain Alessandro Malaspina (Galiano, 1802, map 9) for Thaddeus Haenke, botanist and naturalist with Malaspina's expedition.
