named in 1809 by the Russian navigator, Ivan Vasiliev the first, Imperial Russian Navy (IRN); published by Lieutenant Sarichev (1826, map 19), Imperial Russian Navy (IRN), as "G(ora) Dranishnikova" or "Dranishnikov Mountain."
