History
Named in 1880 by U.S. Navy (USN) for "little" Fritz, son of Lieutenant F. M. Symonds, U.S. Navy (USN); name published by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) in 1883 Coast Pilot (p. 142).
