Description
Crow Island is located in Sitka Sound, 6.5 mi. NW of Sitka, Alex. Arch. 1.3 miles long.
History
This is an 1882 translation by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) of the name given in 1809 by the Russian navigator Ivan Vasiliev the first Imperial Russian Navy (IRN); reported by Lieutenant Sarichev (1826, map 19), Imperial Russian Navy (IRN) as "O(strov) Voroney."
