History
Russian name meaning "fermented" given in 1809 by the navigator Ivan Vasiliev the first; published by Lieutenant Sarichev (1826, map 19) Imperial Russian Navy (IRN), as "Guba Nakvasinskaya." See Nakwasina Passage.
