Crane Cove is located on W coast of Baranof I., 13 mi. S of Sitka, Alex. Arch. 3 miles long.
History
This is a translation by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) of the name given in 1809 by the navigator Ivan Vasiliev the first, Imperial Russian Navy (IRN). Lieutenant Sarichev (1826, map 19) Imperial Russian Navy (IRN), published it as "G(uba) Zhuravlina (from Zhuravets)."
