History
Local name published in 1883 Coast Pilot (p. 140). This may be one of the "Golyya Kamennyya Ostrovki," meaning "Bare Rocky Islets," or the "O(strov) Makhnak," of the Russian navigator Ivan Vasiliev the first who named them in 1809; published by Lieutenant Sarichev (1826, map 19), Imperial Russian Navy (IRN).
