History
Named byU.S. Forest Service (USFS)in 1965; "This lake was observed byU.S. Forest Service (USFS) personnel in 1962. At that time several flocks of butterball ducks (Charitoneita albeala) were on the lake. Apparently the lake is a natural nesting grounds."
