Description
McFarland Islands is located extends in Tlevak Strait off W coast of Sukkwan I., Alex. Arch.
History
Named in 1882 by W. H. Dall, U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS), for "Mrs. A. R. McFarland, a missionary and teacher who began work in Alaska in 1877." These islands were called "Hill islets" by Jackson (1880, p. 376).
