On the NE coast of Dall Island, at the SE entrance to North Bay 18 mi S of Craig, Alex Arch.
History
Named by W. H. Dall, U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS), in 1882, for its fancied resemblance to an alligator's head; derived from the Spanish word "caiman" meaning "American crocodile."
