Description

E of Siksikpuk River, 10 mi. S of junction of Siksikpuk and Chandler River S, 41 mi. N of Anaktuvuk Pass, Arctic Slope.

History

So named by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) geologists about 1950 because it forms a "prominent landmark used by pilots flying between Fairbanks and Umiat."
