Description
Ayiyak River is located heads 2 mi. W of Little Chandler Lake, flows NE to Chandler River, 4 mi. SE of Ayiyak Mesa and 51 mi. N of Anaktuvak Pass, Arctic Slope. 58 miles long.

Eskimo name used by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) geologists during the exploration of Naval Petroleum Reserve No. 4; name given in 1944.
