Description
Sakoonang Channel is located distributary of Colville River, between Nechelik and Tamayayak Channels, in Colville River Delta, Arctic Plain.
History
Eskimo name reported in 1951 by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) as Sakoonawg meaning "big curves" (?). The variant spelling on a U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) map probably represents a typographical error.
