Description
Black Lake is located at head of Chignik River, 23 mi. NE of Mount Veniaminof; Bristol Bay Low. 6.5 miles long.
History
named by Ivan Petroff in the 1880 Census. was locally called "Upper Lake" or "Upper Chignik Lake," according to R. H. Sargent, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
