History
Descriptive name given in 1910 by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS). Called "Ostrov Vysokoy" by Sarichev (1826, map 16). Baker (1906, p. 305), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), published "High Island," the translation of Sarichev's name. See Zaimka Island.
