Nochlega Point is located on S coast of Afognak I., 3.2 mi. SW of Afognak, N of Kodiak I.
History
Transliteration of "M(ys) Nochlega" a name given by Murashev in 1839 or 1840, and published in 1849 on Russian Hydrographic Dept. Chart 1425. Baker (1906, p. 461) published "Nights Lodging Cape," the translation of Murashev's name. This name was changed to its present form in 1909 by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS).
