Description
Chiachi Point is located on NW coast of Whale I., 4 mi. SW of Afognak, N of Kodiak I.
History
The name "M(ys) Chaichiy," from "Chaika" meaning "gull cape," was given in 1839 or 1840 by Sub-Lt. Mikhail Murashev, Imperial Russian Navy (IRN), and published in 1849 on Russian Hydrographic Dept. Chart 1425.
