Aurora Spit is located on Kenai Peninsula, on E shore of Kachemak Bay, 16 mi. NE of Homer, Chugach Mts.

Local name; reported by de Laguna (1934, p. 24), Bureau of American Ethnology (BAE); probably named for the village of Aurora formerly located in the area.
