Sherman Creek is located flows NW to Comet, on E shore of Lynn Canal, 1 mi. NE of Point Sherman and 47 mi. NW of Juneau, Coast mts.

Local name derived from Point Sherman and reported in 1903 by A. C. Spencer (Emmons and Hayes, 1904, p. 38), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
