Young Island is located in Beardslee Is., in Glacier Bay, Glacier Bay National Monument, 0.2 mi. NW of Lester I., and 57 mi. WNW of Juneau, St. Elias Mts.
History
Named in 1938 by a U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) field party for Reverend S. Hall Young, who accompanied John Muir to Glacier Bay in 1879-80.
