Off E shore of Bartlett Cove, S entrance of Glacier Bay National Monument, 5.7 mi NW of Gustavus, Saint Elias Mountains.

History

Originally named Anthony Island (BGN 1942) by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) for Captain Lester Anthony Beardslee, U.S. Navy (USN), who is supposed to have been the first to apply the name Glacier Bay. Lagoon Island is a local name published in 1948 by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
